  • Statement of Faith

    OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

    1) Relationship:

We at Liberty Chapel believe and teach the importance of a personal relationship with God through His son as opposed to anything that focuses on religion or religious practices per se.

    2) Man’s Fall and Redemption:

The Bible teaches that God and man had a special relationship until Satan lied and Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. (Gen. 3:1-13) Man was forever separated from God until He sent His Son to come into the world, and carry our sins to His death on the cross.

(1 John 3:8) (Rom. 5:6-9) It was through the death and resurrection of Jesus that we now have access once again to Father God through His Son (John 3:16) of His love.

    3) The scriptures:

We believe that the whole of the Bible (Old and New Testaments) are the inspired word of God, (2 Tim. 3:16) and explain man’s reason for existence and God’s concern as well as His plan for man’s welfare, now and forever.

    4) The Triune Godhead:

We believe there is one true and living God, (Deut. 4:39) who is everlasting, infinite in power, wisdom, and love: that He is the creator of all things, visible and invisible. (Isaiah 40:28) In the unity of this Godhead, there are three persons who are co-equal, co-existent, and co-eternal. Namely the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Son (Jesus) is the eternally begotten of the Father, being true God and true man: conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary,

(Matt. 1:20-23) died upon the cross, and all who believe in Him are saved because of His shed blood. (Rom. 5:9) He became the firstborn from the dead and ever lives at the Father’s right hand to make intercession for us who believe. (Mark 14:62) He will return again to receive His own (all believers) unto Him and we shall forever be with the Lord. (1 Thess. 4:16, 17) The Holy Spirit is a divine person. The comforter sent by Jesus (John 14:16,17) the Son to comfort, guide, (John 16:13) and empower the believer. (Acts 1:8)

    (Ephesians 3:20 & 21)

    5) Salvation:

We believe salvation or “The New Birth” is a gift from God to man by grace (unmerited favor) through faith (believing His word) in Jesus Christ as God’s Son (Eph. 2:8) confessing with the mouth what is believed in the heart, that is, that Jesus is God’s Son and God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom. 10:9, 10) Man is a free moral agent, so salvation is a choice. (Deut. 30:19)

    6) The church and its ministry Evangelism:

To bring hope, help, and healing to hurting people, to bring the light of Jesus into a dark world. (Matt. 5:14-16) (Acts 13:47) To give, to bless, to love, others as God first loved us, (John 3:16)

(Matt. 22:37-39) (John 15:12,13) and to share the message of salvation to all. (Matt. 28:19)

    7) Water Baptism:

Water Baptism is by emersion, and was commanded by our Lord Jesus for believers only; an outward manifestation of an inward consecration. (1 Peter 3:21) (John 3:5) (Acts 2:38)

    8) The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is a “Person” as part of God sent as a promise of the Father through the Son. (Acts 1:4-8) We shall receive Power to become witnesses. He was sent as a “guarantee” of our inheritance, a seal of His promise. He is called the Helper, the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter. (John 14:15-18) (John 16:12-15) He is the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20 & 21)

    DIVINE HEALING

Healing is part of the package given us through the atonement.

(Isaiah 53:4-6) (Mark 16:15-20) Jesus gave us His Name to overcome all demonic power and physical affliction through the prayer of Faith. (Acts 3:1-7)

    (Acts 4:29, 30) (James 5:15)

    TITHING AND OFFERINGS

It is a scriptural duty for all believers to be obedient as cheerful givers regarding tithe and offerings. (2 Corinthians 9:6-12) God promised “Blessing” wealth and protection if we will be faithful to bring all the tithe. (Malachi 3:8-11) (Proverbs 3:9 & 10)
